  • Orthopaedics Department
    The Mater Hospital is one of the most respected orthopaedic surgical hospitals in the Southern Hemisphere, performing over 1,500 joint replacements every year where you can work with Australia’s leading joint & sports surgical team.
  • Maternity Unit
    The Maternity Unit delivers over 2000 babies each year, providing women and their families with supportive, high quality care before, during and after the birth of their baby. 
  • Cancer Care and Research
    Promoting a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care the Mater's Cancer Care provides support that is comprehensive and personal. Patients receive treatment from a team of nationally recognised cancer specialists, who have a comitment to the latest innovations in cancer care. The Team includes surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, pathology, nurses, social workers, dietitians and pastoral care.The Patricia Ritchie Centre for Cancer Care and Research offers ambulatory care for both chemotherapy and other supportive therapies in a relaxing environment adjacent to the Hospital. It also operates a busy research department coordinating a diverse range of oncological clinical trials.
  • Heart Lung and Vascular Centre
    Provides a comprehensive range of services for the diagnosis and treatment of cardio-vascular disease. The Centre is supported by ICU, Cardiothoracic operating theatre, angiography suites, allied health services and a 24 hour cardiovascular emergency service.
  •  Intensive Care Unit
    An 8-bed ICU featuring state-of- the art patient monitoring equipment.
  • Renal Dialysis Unit
    Featuring the latest in dialysis equipment, the Mater’s Cohen Renal Unit has a reputation for hospitality, compassion and service.
