Aged Care Volunteer Opportunities

Home St Joseph's Village  Working At St Joseph's Village  Aged Care Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are always needed for a range of activities with elderly people in our residential facilities, people who receive care in their own home, and people who attend our programs. Our trained volunteers have an important role within St Joseph's Village and their support helps to maintain our residents quality of life.

Here's a sample of some of the activities where volunteers can help:

  • Transport assistance - transporting our residents to shops, medical appointments and other outings
  • Resident support - assisting residents and staff with recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, sewing, music, gardening and canteen
  • Marketing volunteers - assisting staff with marketing and fundraising activities
  • Administration assistance - assisting staff with data entry, photocopying and filing

Get involved by sharing skills, talents and knowledge. Some of our volunteers come for a chat with our residents. Just by listening, these volunteers help make the residents feel valued, included and informed of community developments. Some bring their children and/or grandchildren along, brightening up the residents' days as they hear the children laughing, talking and playing.

Volunteering for St Joseph's Village opens a world of opportunities for you to help others.

To become a volunteer you will be initially interviewed by our Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that your skills and interests are matched within an environment that will be most rewarding to you.
